..."SMEs & Sustainable Urban Food Provisioning" argues that cities should promote urban food production, and gives examples from around the world where that work has had positive impact.
(Interestingly, many of the examples they give sound very similar to success stories here in Austin, some of which were chronicled last year in Edwin Marty's excellent "State of the Food System Report" from the City of Austin Office of Sustainability last April.) Supurbfood has also published a policy brief called "Sustainable Food Provisioning 2015", which calls for municipal authorities to work together to strengthen capacities and influence relevant regulations in the areas of land use policies, food waste, waste recycling and short food chains.
